U.S. suspends federal agent who joined crowd outside Capitol during rampage, lawyer says

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has suspended an agent who was outside the Capitol when a mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the building, his lawyer said, in the first known case of authorities examining the conduct of a fellow federal agent during the deadly riot.

Your affiant submits there is also probable cause to believe that Mark Sami IBRAHIM
violated 18 U.S.C. § 1001, which makes it a crime to, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the
executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and
willfully (1) falsify, conceal, or cover up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact; or (2)
make any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation by, among other
statements, falsely stating that he never displayed his badge or firearm.

Replying to @alanfeuer
Ibrahim posted some of his photos to a WhatsApp channel used by other law enforcement agents. At around 2:30 pm, one of them asked him if was carrying his duty weapon and badge.
"I need to know this mark," the other law enforcement agent wrote.

When DOJ's Inspector General's office interviewed Ibrahim in March, he said he'd gone to the Capitol to help a friend in the FBI document the event.

But the friend later told investigators that Ibrahim had "crafted this story in an effort to 'cover his ass.'”

Ever since he was let go, he's made a variety of statements to the press and others, in an attempt to establish a false narrative which he tried to sell to investigators.

However innocently, need to have their asses fired/kicked out with a warning to anyone else who would try to employ them in similar work. This is unconscionable.

If you were on capitol grounds you were in a metropolitan police declared riot. People were told to leave they did not they are involved in a criminal act. This fucker deserves jail time. Lots of it, loss of job should just be the first step. He is a Fed who was involved in the attack of other federal law enforcement officers and on democracy itself

Fuck him.

I just wanted to emphasize that these types need to be rooted out of law enforcement and the military. We know they're in there, and they're a danger to this country and the people in it. After that, I'm happy for the legal system to take care of them. But they should not be in any occupation that involves carrying a gun.
