UPDATED: The Justice Department says that Barrack has been charged with acting as an agent of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the direction of UAE officials by influencing the foreign policy positions of the Trump campaign in 2016 and lying to the FBI.

Manafort. He was also pushing the interests of various ME rulers at Trump. So hopefully this will eventually lead to more than just the usual greedy crimes.

Supposedly Trump cut their decades-long "friendship" a couple years ago when he learned, among other things, how much money was donated to the inauguration that he didn't know about. Interestingly, apparently a lot of people promised donations to the inauguration but not the campaign and, when Trump was surprise-elected, then decided they'd better write checks.
