(2,539 posts)I am located approximately equidistant between Bootleg and Dixie. The smoke is very dense today. I should probably be wearing a respirator. But NY City? Insane.

(39,698 posts)But the fire season is still early. Hell, the new normal fire season ends in late December, and resumes in early January.
I'm not kidding myself, and know the smoke will ultimately arrive, but I am am appreciating it absence.

(4,750 posts)Total hazy/smokey sunset tonight with the sun almost obscured. We are under an "Air Quality Alert" which may explain why my eyes have been stinging all day.

Crazy how far these things travel.
