Since they will serve to judge the evidence, the members of the committee must be open.
Begin by asking each member if they think it is possible that trump had nothing to do with Jan 6.
Then ask if they think it is possible that trump caused the whole thing by inciting insurrection.
If they answer no to either question, they cannot serve because they have admitted that they will not receive evidence with an open mind.

(54,770 posts)We've named our commission members, they've named their guys. Get it on. We'll kick their rears.
It's not like the Speaker's members are soft on trump or insurrectionists.

to the vast bowl of stupids, he looks tough and forceful. Every time he acts the ass, his campaign coffers swell.
We gain nothing by having him in the hearings. Those things that we think make him look stupid, those things that drive us crazy and want pound the tv - those things make him a bigger hero for owning the libs among the only people he cares about. Keeping him off the screen lowers our blood pressure, makes the hearings more civil, and (best of all) deprives the ass the fundraising opportunity he wanted.

(11,213 posts)He's gerrymandered into a guaranteed district where the strong majority comes from the 30%.
He gets off by irritating liberals. I kind of like irritating him by cutting his national air time. Make no mistake. Every stupid thing out his mouth, every rude and crude diatribe, every sweaty shirt sleeve minute makes him money and votes from the people that will keep him in office.
If mccarthy had just let it slide and not done the nuclear removal of his appointees, the rethuglicans could have made some hay with gym being kicked out. Now that he has simply refused to let republicans participate, he gave away any shred of grievance that was available.
Let Fox whine. They would have done so anyway Now a truer investigation will be aired - without jordan's interruptions and distractions. That's a good thing.

(15,511 posts)I don't really know much about the other two Republicans who wanted to challenge the election results, but I KNOW Jordan will be like a monkey constantly throwing poop if he's allowed on that committee.
EDIT: Yay! Just heard the news that Pelosi rejected both Jordan and Banks!
