I've opined on this before, but I'll say it again. Passing the infrastructure bill-the big one, that includes the 'human infrastructure'-is essential to retaining control of Congress in 2022.
Pass it and Dems should do well. Fail and Repubs will definitely win back the Senate and probably the House.
By and large, voters don't give a shit how something gets passed, they just want shit to get done. Frankly, if the repubs blow up the 'bi-partisan' bill, Dems should come back and fold all of that shit back into the main reconciliation bill and ram it through. We definitely need Manchin and Sinema on board, of course, how ever we can wrangle that out.
But mark my words, if we don't pass this, we're toast along with American Democracy. We can't allow that until the repubs return to some level of sanity.
For many, winning in 2022 is a secondary reason to pass this, but IMO it is no lower than 1b on the priority of reasons. The tax credit checks will help, though they will stop at end of year if we don't do this right. Losing in '22 would be a disaster.
Oh, and contrary to how they acted after the ACA was passed, Dems need to ram this through and go out and brag about it and run on it. Get it done!

We MUST keep the House. Repubs have so much hate built up they will be like rampaging animals if they get power back.
