Michael Cohen said he thought Jared Kushner had flipped on his father-in-law, Donald Trump.
New York prosecutors are pursuing a criminal investigation into Trump's business empire.
Cohen said it was noteworthy that Kushner's name had been absent in proceedings so far.
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former personal attorney, said he thought Jared Kushner had already flipped on his father-in-law as the criminal investigation into Trump's business empire intensifies.
Cohen did not offer any evidence but said he thought that was the case because of how little Kushner had been mentioned.
Cohen tweeted on Wednesday that Kushner's name had been absent from "all the controversy, indictments and arrests" related to the investigation. He speculated that this was because Kushner was already cooperating with prosecutors.
"Interesting how @jaredkushner (#SecretaryOfEverything) name appears to be absent from all the controversy, indictments and arrests," Cohen tweeted. "Is he next to fall or a cooperating witness? Knowing what a snake he is, I bet the latter!"

(5,223 posts)He keeps making these pronouncements about what's happening in rtumpland, and gets ignored. No one ever checks back if he was right or not, mostly not. He hasn't been in the inner circle in four years or so, and the public doesn't pay any attention to his insights. Fleeting fame is a he'll of a drug!

(752 posts)Cohen probably has no particular basis for saying this ... on the other hand Trump is extremely suspicious and suggestible as Lincoln Project showed (& exploited). What good it does I couldn't say.

(8,387 posts)...Michael Cohen.
That's what his entire life has been about.
Hard for people to grasp the obvious facts that Michael Cohen was a shitty unethical lawyer. So was Michael Avenatti. Just because two people are enemies doesn't make either one of them a hero.

(3,386 posts)I don't dislike Cohen, I see him as the little kid in school who always wanted to run around with the big boys and did stupid things to be accepted.
I do believe he has learned a big lesson, and I think he is one of those people who deserves a 2nd chance.
Did he do stupid illegal stuff? Yes, but has he contributed to the downfall of the buffoon? Yes, and time will tell by how much, so I am willing to give the guy his second chance.

(15,082 posts)Why would Jared's name come up in an investigation of the Trump Organization? He's sleeping with the boss's daughter, but he's not connected to his FIL's business at all.
On Edit: Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It isn't surprising for Kushner to be out of the spotlight. He only emerged from his coffin when he was brokering arms deals in the mid-east.

(1,879 posts)He will say anything that keeps him relevant enough to get ten more minutes on tv. Ari Melber (who I like) is fascinated with him, but then again, he was also fascinated with Avanatti, another crook and media whore.

(4,607 posts)However, I think people are overestimating just how much criminality can be proven against Trump himself.
One of the advantages of being a mental invalid with the attention span of a flea is that it's really hard to put the necessary mental energy into actually breaking the law. Trump's entire MO is to surround himself with crooks who he can encourage to break the law on their own. Even if there are crimes he actually did commit himself, there's probably serious doubt that he knew -- or even had the capacity to know, given how impulsive and mentally defective he is -- that what he was doing was actually illegal.
Honestly, if his ability to plan and commit crimes was actually equal to his personal enthusiasm for criminal behavior, he'd have gone to jail long ago.
