Mother Nature has ways of controlling populations and plague is one of those ways. Medical science is what has helped thwart that. Just because we want a warm and fuzzy everything doesn't mean that life/death is really like that.

The people wishing for these things generally seem to expect they will be around to enjoy the "utopia."
