I think we all saw this coming. I don't think we have a whole lot of other good options.

(2,081 posts)Voter ID laws if the only ID accepted is a COVID vaccine card. It would make things easier for the good people to win office in very red areas of the US

(58,785 posts)as well as amp up noise from RW politicians. How much or little? The results are not certain in a nation dangerously divided and unstable to the point of nihilism.
HOWEVER, Biden said the first full FDA approval of a vaccine may come as early as the end of August, if not then September or October. That will both cut the bottom from under a main argument for waiting and loose a lot of large public and private actions that are waiting on that. Including likely mandatory vaccination for those in the military.
Before those sticks, however, the Giant Delta Stick is here. It's already exploding faster and worse than anything we've seen before -- against those not vaccinated. We're already seeing an ass-covering effect on Fox.

(64,854 posts)...are making noises about taking action to get vax percent up.
These two places employ around 1,200 people in very good paying gigs. (The vast majority make 75 grand & up)
Both are talking about suspending raises for salaried staff if they're not vaxxed. Talking about not allowing OT to hourly staff that's not vaxxed, and the unions have bought in. (The 2 locals have been very assertive in encouraging vaccinations in the rank & file, and it sounds like they're fed up.)
One is even talking about job reassignments for non-vaxxed people who have functions making it impossible to not work right next to others.
The other is considering shutting the quality department to unvaxxed personnel so their vaxxed partners have to do all that interfacing. (At that plant, 100% of quality staff is vaxxed.)
I would think if these 2 lead the way, others are likely to follow.

(100,040 posts)The scary thing is that anti-vaxxers think this whole thing is funny or it's a joke. And they do it mainly to get likes on social media. Not so funny when your quest to get liked costs you your job, is it?
I know if I worked for a large firm I wouldn't want someone sitting next to me who isn't fully vaccinated.

(54,302 posts)Get vaxxed or get lost. We're all vaxxed, so it's not even an issue. Masks in the office are mandatory, too, though they can come off in conference rooms with 6 feet of distance between any two participants.

(64,854 posts)...have 4 to 10 people in them, 12 hours at a time.
There would be only a cumulative 30-90 minutes each day where a person is the only one in the room.
If there's 6 people, and 5 are vaxxed and the hold out hasn't done it by now, they just don't care about their coworkers.
I wouldn't want to be around that 44 hours a week, either.
So, the companies need to incentivize vaxxing, with a club if necessary.
