"I dont see color" he said. Lol.

A friend of mine is a conservative, we've been friends for 30 years. I can only take him in very limited amounts and for quite a few months just did not talk to him after Jan 6th. Recently we have started talking a little and during one conversation he said he doesn't see color when a racist thing came up. I just let that slide and we continued to talk some. I told him I was thinking about buying a jeep and showed him a picture of the one I wanted. Its dark green and I asked him if the thought it looked good in that color, he said it did so I asked how come you can see color now? He replied that when it comes to people he doesn't see color. How does that work? Is everything else around that person in color but that person is not? Are they transparent? If they aren't a color how can you see them? I asked. No, he said. He can see them and can see what color they are but doesn't view them in regards to that color. Then why do you say you don't see color when you do? I thought lying was bad in your religion. I asked. He didn't have an answer for that.

But I do. It can make me a bit crazy, because I'd prefer not to see color. But I can't help it. I do.

Without color there wouldn't be any art. Falling for that argument is stupid.

It creates a full reality that just is not there. Not only that we dont need crt or history but that our eyes are lying to us and we need to ignore reality. No color, no racism, no difference, no reality but what I want it to be.

That was a somewhat popular thing for white liberals to say during the Civil Rights Movement in the late 1950s - '60s. It should be placed in a locked box and buried deeply, for obvious reasons.

What a shame it would be to not see and appreciate the diversity of humanity.

up ones culture.

Studies have also shown that kids that immigrate here and speak another language besides English are actually able to learn English better if they are allowed to continue speaking their language.

Learning additional languages is easier the more you know and speak other languages .

And we see how this was just one area that devastated Native American communities by denying them their langauge and culture. They could easily have learned English also while continuing to speak their native language (which were the real native languages of the Americas).

What I am guessing he means, that he is willing to allow someone into his zone of acceptance as "honorary white," so long as they abandon their own culture.

Half the people had light skin and half the people had darker skin. That's all I knew. I didn't know that there was a name for darker-skinned people because nobody ever mentioned it. If I made a new friend at school and told my parents, they never asked about what color her skin was. It wasn't until I went to junior high school in a small town that I learned what racism and antisemitism were.
