Because any republican or democrat willing to call out members of their own party will get some attention and respect from me (and the older I get the more discerning I become separating real from politically self serving criticism on either side). I understand all the things people say about how he promoted TFG and that’s true.

Unfortunately unlike most Democrats he and many others were fooled by this grifter. Fine! ‘Nuff said. But he is doing and saying now what most republicans will only say in private, the standard M. O. from any non retired politician (not sure I’ll ever forgive Dole for his recent statements). That infuriates me more than anything. If republicans did the right thing now they absolutely would lose 1 or more election cycles but they would come back a stronger party for it.

It’s easy to point out that what the other side is doing is wrong, it’s much more important to keep your side honest and it something republicans generally don’t do. So I’ll continue listening even when he says things that make me want to pull my hair out.
