Some of the outfits are ridiculous.

Women's beach volleyball uniforms are just unnecessary. You can't tell me most of those athletes don't want to wear more appropriate attire rather than tiny bottoms that reveal their entire rear end. And the cameras focus right on their behinds every chance they get.

It's insulting to them as athletes IMO. And I enjoy watching volleyball, but the women's indoor team volleyball doesn't require the women to wear the smallest bottoms possible, they're wearing appropriate athletic attire.

It's so sexist in my mind and I won't watch it.

OMG, can't remember which team it was, but the bathing suits were so far up their butts it made me uncomfortable, for many reasons. It might have been Italy's team, don't remember.

I can understand that for diving, where form in being judged you want to limbs to be free and visible, but it just seems a little over the top.

The Olympics is a business, they know they get some people tuning in to see beautiful bodies in revealing attire, I just think it's demeaning, but that's just my opinion, some of the athletes may disagree.

And so far, I haven't seen any men with bathing suits up their butts like the women are wearing. I will say I only saw 1 country with suits like that, but I'm sure we/I haven't seen all the suits. Who knows what we will be seeing in the next week or so

Have you seen track and field? Women dress the same, the men in nylon tights with junk swinging, Gymnastics, and swimming and diving. If you are offended, watch Fencing, and Martial arts. Go to any beach USA, watch MMA, Normal attire. These sports wear the same in all competition outside of Olympics. It is not on them, have you seen MTV music videos? Pink participates. Her choice. I applaud her standing with those that refuse to wear that attire. But until the other athletes say no way, let them compete how they want. I choose not to watch men’s diving. Maybe if they wore Bermuda shorts.
Venture to say many of those men flopping choose not to wear a jock.

It is NOT the Olympic committee that solely choose dress code. The same wear is used in all non Olympic competition world wide. If they ALL spoke out, they would have the say. If it offends viewers, Joel Olsteen has 24/7 programming. Viewer friendly. So when I hear a unified outrage from all athletes, I will support Bermuda shorts. Sand in a GString has to be tough, but that is what they wear. If I spent a lifetime creating a body like those, Gods Temple, I would shop at WalMart in a Speedo. Most of these athletes are damn proud of there bodies. Until they speak out, I will watch and admire the life long efforts these amazing people put into this. What offends me is a 230 pound 5 foot muffin top, 24 year old tattooed to hell, braless in a tank top with Juicy or Pink printed across the ass of a medium shorts where XXL is needed. Remember that “Freedom” thing. Let them speak out, use your remote. Many many women love the men running in Lycra. Stop with the outfit police. That is the evilgelicals job.
Saw footage of Flea at Woodstock 99 totally nude jumping around as he does, and I changed the channel.

They should wear whatever they want. I remember the last Olympics had some Muslim players completely covered up and that was fine.

same sport would be dressed appropriately. Nothing more than misogyny in the Olympics. Female German Gymnasts will be wearing unitards, like the men. Hooray!!! Thank you Pink.

For decades, female gymnasts have worn bikini-cut leotards. In qualifying on Sunday, however, the German team instead wore unitards that stretched to their ankles, intending to push back against sexualization of women in gymnastics.17 hours ago

Okay, I made upt that part about "this is why"--they didn't even have volleyball back then. But the original Olympics were sans coulottes. They may not even have worn sandals. And no one cared.
