My friend's dad just got intubated

a nice enuf guy. Not old. kind of a muscle bound blockhead. Not vaccinated of course.

It changes you when you know someone. My thought used to be "too bad so sad." Now it's more along the lines of "this person could die because they are STUPID? Hope it is the lesson they need to come around."

Guess it is harder to dismiss someone you know...

When a working parent dies, any kid gets a social security survivors benefit until age 21. I think they should get it, but this pandemic is going to create a severe run on that fund.

But all these new infections become so many more vectors for susceptible children who can't be vaccinated yet. Even that would be bad enough, but all these infections give the virus another chance to evolve and mutate and become more virulent and vaccine-resistant. So we're looking at a worst-case scenario stoked by people who can't be bothered to consider the fuller consequences of their actions.

I hope bedazzled's friend's dad pulls through. I also hope he draws the right conclusion from his reckless behavior.

The pandemic of the unvaccinated is going test a lot of medical personnel’s patience.

It's much, much better now that we understand the virus a bit better, treatment modalities and have our PPE's....What traumatizes me are the vocal anti-vaxxers....the spreaders of this virus because of Fox News and trumpsters...These folks are in open public settings causing stealth havoc...and I am perceived as a snowflake...

If I catch it and and can contact trace it to someone who is unvaccinated, I am going to get a good attorney and see if I can start a civil case against them.

Vaccinated people need to start suing these idiots into oblivion.

unless the infection was traced by viral genetics, which is costly. Without that proof, employers would claim that the source of infection could be elsewhere.
