"I spent 20 min being yelled at by a patient because I recommended a COVID-19 test."

Tweet text:
Dr. Rob Davidson #GetVaccinated
@DrRobDavidson
I spent 20 min being yelled at by a patient because I recommended a #COVID19 test. Told we were giving people COVID with the vaccine. These interactions are because of @FoxNews and @TuckerCarlson. Their lies are making doctors’ jobs harder and killing our patients.

They can't really turn anyone away from ERs, unfortunately. Which sucks, because Screaming Mimi more than deserved to be tossed out of there. ER doctors already have to deal with a ton of assholes, even without these Covidiots. I feel bad for them.

Even though mask requirements in businesses have been eased in our county (I still wear mine anyway), if I want to go to the doctor, I am required to mask up.

…picture of someone that angry ripping of their mask during their rant.

I retired in March from the peds office where I was a nurse practitioner for the past almost 25 years. I don’t know if they have relaxed any of the restrictions since I left. We were doing well only visits in the mornings.

No matter what the circumstances, there is no way I would have leta patient or parent yell at me for 20 minutes.

Normally, that would be considered inappropriate, because you never know when a patient isn't rational or able to communicate. But at this point, I think Docs should be given a pass if they are confronted with a moron who thinks they know more than the doc.

I'd like to say to these idiots: "Ok. You know more than docs. So, go home an treat yourself. Stop wasting my time."

They'd come out of their houses, stand on balconies, and clap or bang pots and pans together to make a big noise, cheering for the doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel who were putting in round-the-clock shifts, trying to bring sick people back from the brink of death. Remember that? It was pretty uplifting.

What are people doing today to show their appreciation for these dedicated professionals? Refusing to take any precautions, refusing to get vaccinated, and generally just pissing all over their efforts to save lives.

That's one of the worst parts of this whole anti-vax clusterfuck -- the unnecessary physical and psychological strain it is putting on health care workers.

Didn’t work for me. Ended up working more than 40 anyways, with the benefit of reduced pay and fewer accrued vacation hours. Changed to going to an on-call, as-needed basis. Billed 14 hours on last week’s timesheet. I’m seriously thinking about dumping this as well.

I hope you can do better than me in this regard.

Mon Jul 26, 2021, 07:09 PM

Doctors and health care workers in many parts of Africa are dying because they have no vaccines for themselves or their patients. Meanwhile, people here are refusing to get free shots and are leaving vaccines on the shelf to be wasted while those in other countries die. Covid is a global pandemic. We will not be safe until almost everyone is vaccinated.

I’m ready to isolate those here who will not be vaccinated because they choose politics over heath—not allowed to work in person, not allowed to fly, not allowed in public stores, restaurants, bars, etc. Send the vaccines they have refused to poor countries where people are desperate to be vaccinated.

I for one after twice vaccinated sheltered in place for months at great hardship, refuse to mask up again and go back into lock down to save a few worthless decrepit old curmudgeon fox news jockeys who contribute nothing to society. I did more than my part so fuck them if they keep digging in to tribalism and stubbornly cling to wilful stupidity. Good riddance to them all.

I can't blame him. I really worry about the healthcare workers more than anyone. If they get to the point where they can't take it anymore and just walk off the job, where does that leave the rest of us? It's not the type of job where just anyone can step in and pinch hit.

FFS, I wish these selfish assholes would just think about what they are putting these people through! And what they are putting the rest of us through. I have never seen such outrageous self-absorption in my entire life. These people do not give a damn about anyone but themselves. Not their families, their neighbors, their co-workers, nobody. They are so immature!.
