As for being only on local networks — alas, no. Some of us were concerned about lack of security as long as 20 years ago. I don’t know how secure most of those systems are to this day.

I own a video router. Used to have a router for the computer but don't need it anymore. There is nothing it them but electronics to split a signal and send it to 2 or more places.

TV stations have hundreds of them. To send video to various parts of the building or to different monitors. They don't hold data.
