The Capitol Police Board is made up on the House Sergeant at Arms, the Senate Sergeant at Arms and the Architect of the Capitol.

The House SAA is selected by the Speaker and then Elected by the House

The Senate Sergeant at Arms is selected by McConnell and voted on in the Senate

The Architect is appointed by the President (Trump) to a 10 year term that is confirmed by the Senate, so it looks like 2/3 of the Police Board was approved by Republicans.

Additionally, Paul Irving was first appointed by Speaker John Boehner and was held over by Speaker Pelosi.

The Speaker is not in charge of the life safety and security of the Capitol, the Police Board is.

Kevin McCarthy blew their last chance to effectively disrupt the hearings when he withdrew all of his members from the committee. This is going to go very badly for them, and they know it.
