Once I was almost crushed by a college football crowd rushing the field. I got a brief taste of what these guys were feeling. Being crushed by a crowd is an utterly helpless feeling. And you fear for your life

For all of my 74 years except for the past five years I have heard the Republicans claim to be more American, more patriotic, more supportive of the military and law enforcement. Since 2015 their leader - AND THEY - have attacked and denigrated all of those categories, things they would have called treason if done by anybody else.

The witnesses describing their injuries and the physical and emotional pain, the insults against their service and their patriotism and their race - and it is predictable that they will be mocked by the wingnuts for their tears.
