General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI seem to be scrapping more posts than I complete and post recently. Some are just a little "salty"
but most that you never see are typed by the kid who grew up in a neighborhood where nonsense and insults were usually dealt with physically and immediately. And, if nonsense and insults were removed from current political discourse, each news hour would have 58 minutes of empty air time.
So far, my self editor is keeping me on line and out of jail.

(39,343 posts)If by "salty" you mean violent and possibly in violation of TOS, then yes, I too have been salty in my head prior to deleting.

(2,525 posts)and 1/3 of the posts I start end up getting dumped.
Piling on to the dumbasses on the right doesn't help my temperament as much as I thought it would.

(32,626 posts)kind of surprised at my lack of civility and penchant for violence. It's oozing out of me, which I guess is good, as long as I don't act on, or share those thoughts. Good to know...maybe I'm not so whacked after all.

(16,925 posts)He used to pen eloquent responses to critics and foes, then put them into an envelope and place them into a drawer, and they never saw daylight again until the next 'letter' was deposited in the same drawer.
There was one notable exception:
His daughter Margaret once fancied herself as a singer/performer. At one point she gave a recital that was attended by a Washington critic who later wrote a less-than-flattering review of her performance. Her father, President Truman, wrote a letter threatening to 'punch the critic in the nose' the next time he saw him - and this time he DID mail the letter!
Here's the story:

One interesting note from the episode: After the letter was released to the public there was mixed feelings among the public.
However, here's an interesting response:
An American in Australia felt that Trumans act had been a national embarrassment and asked, How long must Americans living abroad be humiliated by such ill-chosen words and threats by the President?
Wow!!!! How would THAT person ever survive TFG!!!!
