Their candidate gets a legitimate ass spanking - and they immediately call for the moderators head

Conservatives assail debate moderator Candy Crowley

Moderator Candy Crowley is facing criticism over her performance in the second presidential debate, with conservatives alleging that she sided with President Obama and one group even calling on her to be fired.

"Crowley's behavior goes beyond despicable as it was a blatant attempt to influence the presidential election," Americans for Limited Government said in a statement Wednesday. "If CNN wants to maintain any shred of credibility as a 'news' organization, they should fire Crowley immediately for her gross violation of whatever remains of journalistic standards."

....

To be sure, debate moderators should not be insulated from criticism. The questions during Tuesday night's town hall debate, which were chosen by Crowley, more often than not played into the president's hands - perhaps reflecting the fact that the town hall was held in a blue state. And Crowley's decision to side with the president over whether he had deemed the Libya attack an act of terror, when the reality was not so clear cut, was a misstep.

But the moderator's impact on the debate is ultimately relatively small: It is the candidates, after all, who do most of the talking. The moderator, meanwhile, has to try to keep the conversation moving while giving the candidates equal time, correcting false claims and steering answers back toward the question. For partisans looking to explain away a poor performance by their candidate, they make an easy target precisely because it's almost impossible to pull all that off perfectly. It should come as no surprise that many Democrats suggested that Mr. Obama lost the first debate in part because Lehrer let Romney roll over him, while many Republicans suggested Romney lost the second one because Crowley handed it to the president. That's a lot easier than just admitting your guy screwed up.

bolding mine

How sad and pitiful is this. Just because the bully goes up against someone who whips his ass, all of a sudden it's not a fair fight. Well I am starting to think conservatives like r0mney don't like a fair fight. They like getting their way. And if they don't get their way they will make trouble for anyone and everyone until we all understand that it's always all about them.

Candy wasn't nearly harsh enough. Mitt went over time, addressed the President directly when he was not supposed to, etcetc...there were BLATANT rule violations in BOTH debates...

AFAIK, in High School and College debates, violations of the rules is either immediate disqualification, or you lose points and it brings your overall score down. So let's get realistic here...lf the RW wants to call for Crowley's head, then Lehrer, Romney and maybe even our Pres would have to take some hits too...but IMO, mostly Romney...he has not played by the rules of EITHER debate...

They want the debates modeled after professional wrestling and family feud.

And as mentioned in other threads - r0mney sends his people in to negotiate rules that they expect will give him an edge, then 20 minutes into it he has broken every rule.

But I agree. There should some debate rules whereby the moderator can penalize a debater by taking away minutes when one breaks the rules.

Of course they don't. Why else would they install all the voter suppression bullshit?

He just can't deal with losing legitimately and his minions are scapegoating the moderator.

Are they going to blame the crickets in the room too?
