Charles Pierce ftw!

The former president* has to testify now. He has to be forced to watch the body-cam videos and to comment on them, to talk about how bear spray is a kiss and an improvised javelin is a hug.

Charlie is right as usual. Also that picture is awesome (from today's MTG/Gaetz press fiasco)

Updated to add excerpt:

The former president* has to testify now. He has to be asked the tough
questions, in some public forum, under oath. He has to be forced to watch the body-cam videos and to comment on them, to talk about how bear spray is a kiss and an improvised javelin is a hug, and how "shoot him with his own gun" is an expression of love and respect. The rest of them, too, of course—the little attendant rats, some of whom got hilariously run out of their own press conference on Tuesday as the officers were testifying elsewhere on Capitol Hill. (I’m no political consultant, but I’m willing to bet that, "Are you a
pedophile?" is tops on the list of questions you do not want your client to field while pursued down a Washington street.) But Donald Trump has to be forced to confront what he did, and what he continues to do, to the country for which he does not give the smallest damn."

Of Alex tied to the chair with his eyes wedged open being forced to watch extreme violence.

Like that?

I wish we could get his butt in the chair for some Q and A, but he would fight it all the way to SCOTUS - and who knows how they would rule.

However, instead of Ludwig van, play a recording of his own voice. He can drive himself nuts whenever he talks.

make him show up?

Don't get me wrong. I want that bastard in jail but I don't know how they can subpoena him when they are accusing him of causing the insurrection. Same with the others. But I'm not a lawyer. I hope someone can explain.

incriminate.

Trump won’t invoke the 5th, though. He’ll refuse to appear, litigate the subpoena, and hope Republicans take the House and disband the committee.

But then again, Charlie Pierce seldom fails to hit one outta the ballpark.

I suspect that is what TLG is gonna do.

I don't see him able to give a straight answer to mere congress members, or a straight answer of any kind at all.

I strongly suspect that if he were in front of a federal judge, or in grand jury chambers he'd not answer straight. Its not what he does and he cannot accept that anyone else has power over him.

Given his delusional state its possible he's incapable of standing trial due to impaired capacity. I expect a lawyer or 2 will be making such a case. TLG will do anything to avoid being classed with other mortals.
