House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has pulled out all six Republicans designated to serve on a key select committee on the economy, three sources tell CNN, a sign of the fallout among House Republicans over being vetoed from the panel investigating the January 6 insurrection.
None of McCarthys initial appointments to the select committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth will be joining that committees first meeting this week, a lawmaker familiar with the committee told CNN.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosis Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill also confirmed to CNN that McCarthys selections to this key economic select committee had pulled out.
What is still unclear at this time is whether these Republicans are boycotting the committee temporarily or leaving it altogether. It also remains to be seen whether there are other select committees Republicans will reject.

They're not interested in government functions, except for cashing in their paychecks and their political donations.

(22,114 posts)for. Not interested in the governing the Country, dealing w/ critical economic issues of the day, in short, short-changing the American taxpayer.
They should be removed for cause, special elections should be held to elect new replacements, etc. I wonder why those that brazenly participated in the events of 1/6/21 are still allowed to be seated in the Congress still to this day? Green and Gaetz are finding out that they are unable to escape their protesters who at every meeting I've seen, held up signs calling them traitors. Every one of these thugs should be called out, dealt w/. Especially when now in the light of day, rump has been shown to be far more involved in the 1/6 events than he's claimed and also when rump is encouraging these senators to refuse to work or participate in the workings of government.
rump should never ever be allowed to run for an elected office again.
