I did not watch the hearings only the heart wrenching parts on network TV

And I was shaking. How can republicans not be moved?

Do they still think that this was like tourists?

What did Carlson say about Officer Dunn that generated hate mail and other comments.

I wish that Republican member of Congress be called to testify how they felt when they were being terrorised. It is not that the terrorists distinguished between R’s and D’s

The overwhelming majority of current Republicans are irredeemable. There is no appeal to logic, evidence, humanity, reason that will work. It's akin to religious identity. It's a sort of nationalism.

There is nothing which will cause them to step away from the group no matter what the group does because the primary emotional connection is to that group. And not to the other things which they claim to be the focus of their loyalty (country, constitution, cops, whatever).
