is vaccine apathy maybe a bigger problem than vaccine hesitancy?

the younger crowd (many POC) might just be more apathetic since this was an geezer killer early on, and they just went maskless in May thinking it was over? Could the same issues that that make this low voter group make also make them a low vax group? can be they convinced since most they don't watch Faux fake news on huge numbers like their elders, I really don't know how much any mandates will do if they just gather maskless and unvaxxed at home. I never see any ads from my local health department on social media but I don't give my age or even real location on many of those platforms

A fair number of younger people ascribe to the myth of personal immortality, meaning that they think that nothing bad will ever happen to them, so COVID is not their problem. This mindset causes too many young people to needlessly die from car accidents, drug overdoses, gun violence, and so on. They’re not as much hesitant about taking a vaccine as they are apathetic about what fails to arouse them to take action...
