Yesterday's testimony to Select Committee was just a small skirmish in a much longer war.

It was like the First Battle of Bull Run. People came out and sat on the hillsides, with their picnic baskets, to watch the two sides do battle. But it was just the beginning of a long and arduous struggle.

There will be many witnesses and testimony still to come. There are bigger battles to fight.

But, just as we were fighting to maintain the Union and democracy then, we are in the same struggle today. We are fighting to save our democracy. The fascists will not surrender. They must be defeated.

Just as the Union was on the right side of history then, so it is that the Democratic Party is on the right side of history this time. They are on the side of truth and openness. The Republicans are on the side of lies, deceit, and cover-up.

It is not a battle that can be compromised. There are no two sides. There is the truth and there is not the truth.
