'Just Stop With This Craziness': Tim Ryan's Speech Against Kevin McCarthy Viewed 1 Million Times
By James Crump On 7/29/21 at 5:59 AM EDT
Tim Ryan's explosive speech against House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's comments on face masks has been viewed more than 1 million times as the Ohio representative was widely praised on social media for his remarks.
During a speech on Wednesday, Ryan spent his allotted time speaking about Republican lawmakers who had criticized Capitol physician Brian Monahan after he announced that face masks would be required again in the House amid the spread of the contagious Delta variant of COVID-19.
Monahan confirmed that representatives would have to wear masks in the House side of the Capitol in a memo on Tuesday after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that it was now recommending that even vaccinated people wear masks in high-risk areas.

(14,831 posts)I had listened to McCarthy's crazy loud crying and whining about having to wear a mask and was hoping Ryan would respond. I wasn't disappointed.

(18,628 posts)McCarthy is in the obvious position to adopt the Speaker's podium for the Republicans the same as Prince Harry is in line for the English Throne.
Unless the party is in more disarray than I thought, Kevin McCarthy will be pushed aside if they're ever lucky enough to take the House.

(2,114 posts)There you have modern Republicans in a nutshell. Although for accuracy one is forced by the facts to add "dishonest and untruthful."
Sad.

(3,326 posts)Tim Ryan, boldly calls out, the GQP'ers, misaligned umbrage over going back to wearing masks indoors.
Their dizzying array of loudly spouted falsehoods, non-sense, and deliberate misinterpretations of freedom, and individual rights , in the face of a deadly pandemic which threaten the well being of everything on the planet, needs to be as boldly and emphatically called out more often.

(18,628 posts)He worked for the great Jim Traficant when he left college. Traficant was the master of the 3 minute speech that often ended in "beam me up!".
Tim Ryan is like Traficant without the corruption baggage and I hope he becomes our next junior senator.

(43,149 posts)Tim Ryan is venting the frustration and exasperation of non-magats in America, and labeling the GOP in the process as "crazy". Truth once spoken has legs.
Most people think Trump, McCarthy, McConnell, MTG, election fraudits, the insurrection to be crazy.
It's too early to be certain, but it looks to me like we're putting the crazy back in the bottle with the committee hearings, and just general fatigue with all that Trump wrought. His nonsense is not aging well.
