(10,749 posts)I would have liked to have been the one to write, Jesus, what a fucking idiot.
I mean, really, how can one person be this fantastically stupid? Isn't a senator supposed to have staff to be sure that their senator doesn't appear in public to be as stupid as he is in private? And if this was vetted by staff, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that a fantastically stupid senator would hire fantastically stupid staff.
Whenever I see this kind of stuff (btw, is this a second idiotic reference to a German dam, or is this an older tweet - doesn't really matter, though - it's always a good time to dump on Rubio), I wonder whether spouse and children and other family regret that they were born into this family and that, on the children side, that they share his genes and worry that they, too, may also be congenitally stupid?

(3,386 posts)so these gaffs keep them in the news, they really have no shame.
republicans remind me of a TV ad that was out a long time ago, a beer commercial, where the guy said you can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, or...as long as you call me...

And that is what republicans do, that is what trump-the-buffoon does, although in trump-the-buffoon's case he may be thinking he is saying or doing something brilliant.

(9,951 posts)... really, I noticed this with Crooked Donald. these people don't have enough money or brain power to hire someone to screen their pearls of stupidity? They don't know their weaknesses? They don't have friends or relatives close enough to tell them? Their egos must be so big... and so dumb...

For what its worth, Ill grant the Fab Three of Fox, Hannity, Ingraham, and Swanson-Carlson, Gamma status. Just smart enough to run herd on the Deltas and Epsilons who vote for the Gohmerts and Boeberts of America.

(8,711 posts)Gulp gulp gulp. Florida really has a brain shortage. The Delta thinning may be a good thing. Sorry good Florida people, must be hell to be stuck there. Just look
At the list of Govs, and all those sent to represent and earn that gubment check for year after year. Criminally stupid and corrupt. And now you house the biggest traitor in the History of the nation. And his spawn. DC is a law abiding home of brilliant people compared to Florida. And really a swamp. Your elected people crawl right out that that black water.

For that matter, I wonder if Florida will ever tire of an idiot Senator named "Blond Marc" who probably has more gaffes in a month than Joe Biden has amassed in his lifetime.

(22,474 posts)My confusing first name has done it again. This time, it led to a minor gaffe by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).
Some background: Since last week, Venezuela has seen massive power outages, rooted in the countrys poor maintenance of its electricity network and problems originating in the Guri hydroelectric plant. Its yet another sign of the abysmal state the country is in under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro.
Rubio tweeted about the news over the weekend claiming in a now-deleted tweet that the blackout was caused by another transformer explosion at the German Dam in Bolivar State. But the tweet got a big thing wrong: This was not due to problems at Venezuelas German Dam. Germán Dam, instead, is the name of a journalist who reported the story about the power outages.
