It is a real problem, but it is up to us to find the truth, to never disseminate "information" until we can verify its truthfulness, and if you cannot find out if its legit or not, then don't send it because all you are doing is helping that ugly new industry grow.
If you cannot corroborate the information, don't forward it.
To me, that is our biggest contribution to stop disinformation.
