General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCould people not post Olympics spoilers?
Many competitions aren't broadcasted until prime time. I really prefer not to know who wins because it makes it less fun to watch.
Please consider not posting spoilers.
Or perhaps you could avoid posting the athletes name in the title? Like Results of women's all around instead of_____ wins All-Around? That way people who don't want to know don't see the results.
Thanks.

Oh

I promise to post a thread letting you know when its ok to discuss with other DUers.

(17,342 posts)As for DUers, it's something called common courtesy.

(26,727 posts)It's a common courtesy to not disclose the plot of a prime time show between east and west coast air times... and it's a common courtesy not to gab about the movie that just hit the theaters but most fans haven't seen it yet.
But worldwide news that hits every front page and popped up in three different notifications on my phone this morning?
Nah. If you want to avoid that news you shouldn't be on DU either.

(32,630 posts)I don't think the comments concerning the Olympics should get mixed up in the "general" discussion forum anyway.
(1) Not everyone is watching the Olympics
(2) The ones who are watching don't want to see spoilers
(3) Among those who are watching, there's only a small minority who feel like posting comments

(3,255 posts)Turned the channel if there is a hint of an Olympic update. I dont want to know the outcome ahead of time. It ruins the fun. Sure Ill still watch if I accidentally find out before hand. But, I prefer to that anticipation and element of surprise.

Sucks when the time difference is 12 hours apart and nothing is live, but what are you gonna do?

(10,133 posts)The world does not run on US time (and even here we have several time zones). If the worst thing that happens to anyone is that they hear the outcome of a sporting event before they had a chance to watch it themselves - well, I'm not going to lose any sleep about it.
What I do find interesting is that Ms Lee's feat make the front page of the Guardian's UK edition this morning: they can be as Britocentric as the US is Americacentric.
