Less than a year after a pro-Trump mob stormed the US Capitol, nearly half of Republican voters (47%) say that "a time will come when patriotic Americans have to take the law into their own hands," per a new nationwide survey by George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs.

Only about 29% of Americans agreed with this statement on some level, the poll found, including just 9% of Democrats. And 49% said they disagree or strongly disagree.

The poll also found that a majority of Republicans (55%) say "the traditional American way of life is disappearing so fast we may have to use force to save it." About 15% of Democrats agreed with this statement, but more Americans disagreed (46%) than agreed (34%).

More Republicans (27%) than Democrats (18%) said that "strong leaders sometimes have to bend the rules in order to get things done."

That Law and Order stuff is only a convent way to put their proverbial knee on the necks of those who oppose them.

At some point, the Repubs are going to gain power. You can't win every election, even in a fair situation. I almost shudder to think what retribution for their perceived "suppression" they will partake.

I've said this many times, if the Dems were smart they'd put legislation in place to keep Federal and State spending from bleeding too far out from their collection sources. The "buying of votes" with tax money is most likely an illusion, but I'd say the suburban and urban areas contribute far more in tax revenues than the rural. And most likely, the rural areas are more often than not on the receiving end (i.e. takers).

I would suspect that the Democrats who agreed that violence is coming, believe it because they think that they will have to fight the right to stay alive, not that they support some kind of Fascist overthrow of the country.

Thirty percent of the country has been effectively brainwashed by the right wing press over the past 30 years. They are ignorant, they are angry, they see liberals as a deadly enemy, and they have the conviction of religious zealots; a deadly mixture.
