Required background checks be completed before sale is completed.
Bipartison bumpstock ban failed
Would ban the sale of devices that make semi auto weapons operate like machine guns.
Closing the Charleston loophole failed
Would change the 3 day 'must sell' rule to must pass background background before selling.
Universal background checks failed
Required background checks on private sales.

I'm guessing that these sensible laws are seen as illegal barriers to gun ownership by the gun nuts.

Of course, they do not stop anyone from having a gun.
But any restriction is just too much.

None of the proposals would limit sales (other than bumpstocks, which are extremely stupid anyway) of firearms. It would make them a little bit more tedious, but really, I live in California, which has 10 day waiting periods, all sales and transfers (except to immediate family) must go through an FFL, etc... and we still have an assault weapons ban, but it hasn't really hampered gun rights. Sellers even tailor firearms to be "California Compliant" because it is a big market.
All of the opposition to the above bills, was from the gun manufacturers lobby and the NRA.
