Someone please explain this to me

Gun control legislation that passed and failed over the last 20 years

Gun Show Loophole Closing Act of 2017 failed
Required all sales at gun shows have background checks, show operators to register with ATF and allow
ATF inspections.
Safer Neighborhoods Gun Buyback Act failed
Funded DOJ to provide state & local governments money for voluntary gun buys.
Handgun Safety Trigger Act failed
Required all new guns be 'smart guns' linked to authorized users--existing guns grandfathered.
Required Background Checks failed
Required background checks be completed before sale is completed.
Bipartison bumpstock ban failed
Would ban the sale of devices that make semi auto weapons operate like machine guns.
Closing the Charleston loophole failed
Would change the 3 day 'must sell' rule to must pass background background before selling.
Universal background checks failed
Required background checks on private sales.

Please, someone explain how any of these proposals would infringe on the rights of gunners?
I mean, what the fuck is wrong with us?

I'm guessing that these sensible laws are seen as illegal barriers to gun ownership by the gun nuts. CaliforniaPeggy Jul 2021 #1

Of course, they do not stop anyone from having a gun.

But any restriction is just too much.

None of the proposals would limit sales (other than bumpstocks, which are extremely stupid anyway) of firearms. It would make them a little bit more tedious, but really, I live in California, which has 10 day waiting periods, all sales and transfers (except to immediate family) must go through an FFL, etc... and we still have an assault weapons ban, but it hasn't really hampered gun rights. Sellers even tailor firearms to be "California Compliant" because it is a big market.

All of the opposition to the above bills, was from the gun manufacturers lobby and the NRA.
