the fact that - we have 50 states and each state is creating their own rules.

It's no wonder that people are confused and fed-up with this.

This pandemic is hitting all of us and in my opinion - the U.S. Government should lay down the rules and make each state comply to them.

I think we dropped the ball on this pandemic by not having a U.S. set of rules for dealing with it.

I hope that they learned from this one - and the next pandemic is coordinated out of Washington D.C. with one set of rules for the whole country and not 50 different sets.

NOTE: I had to run some errands and just came home from them. I went to 3 stores and was surprised that the majority of the people shopping were not wearing a mask.

I don't know if they just aren't tuned into what is going on with the 'delta variant' cause I don't think they realize the seriousness of this variant.

I actually am beginning to feel sorry for these non-maskers. There's going to be a lot of sick and dying people soon - if they ignore the warnings put out by the CDC. This 'delta variant' is really dangerous and I don't think people are treating it as such.

1. Boggles the mind, doesn't ut?

I've been the only one besides employees masked in grocery store.

I think I read that the severity of delra is 4.9 times previous versions. Yikes.

2. The very loud and attention seeking maskholes

were seen all over the TV and social media. They got all this free PR and politicians were afraid of them and their influence so they kept too quiet. The maskholes should have been arrested and fined over a year ago. We should have nipped it in the bud but the fucking moron was still POTUS and the maskholes were given power.

3. The biggest issue is

that wearing a mask and washing your hands and staying at home is mildly inconvenient and a good 60-70% of the population doesn't care if someone else dies if it means they have to be mildly inconvenienced.

The policy challenge is if you leave even the slightest wiggle room or room for interpretation or opportunity to cheat most of those people won't do the right thing if they don't think they will get caught.

So the solutions are:

1. air-tight enforceable national regulations with actual penalties for non-compliance
2. good role-modelling and education campaigns to encourage people to grow the fuck up and do the right thing

4. I've resumed wearing a mask

Using the KN 95 mask. So far, with the exception of the local co-op, I’m in the minority. Let’s see if that changes in the coming days and weeks.
