In addition, starting today all employees and guests must wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
They are really throwing down the gauntlet.

(11,949 posts)The wife and I are surprised at this. But very pleased.
They cant require it of the hourly employees because that involves collective bargaining.
People are surprised to learn Disney is a unionized company.
Will be interested to see how the state responds. Needless to say, Disney carries a little bit of clout in Tallahassee.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings declared that all 4,200 non-unionized counties get fully vaccinated by the end of September.
Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has opposed new restrictions for the COVID-19 pandemic, even as cases surge.

No word yet on what documents will be required.
This is just for salaried, nonunion employees. Maybe 15-20% of the workforce.
Guests are unaffected.

(11,949 posts)Have one and deputies are there quickly for a trip to 33rd street(the county jail). And Florida is not open carry. Do it in any city and you are going to jail.
Reminds me back in the late 90s. Disney was one in the first in the nation to give benefits to same sex couples. Almost 20 years before gay marriage was legal. The Baptist had a silly boycott. The result? Disney did not back down and less bigots in the parks.
