Rep. Cori Bush to sleep outside the Capitol building tonight, protesting end of eviction moratorium

Kyle Griffin @kylegriffin1 10m
New: Tonight, Rep. Cori Bush will sleep outside the U.S. Capitol building in an appeal to her colleagues in Congress to return to Washington and vote to extend the federal eviction moratorium.

Cori Bush @CoriBush 18m
Many of my Democratic colleagues chose to go on vacation early today rather than staying to vote to keep people in their homes.

I’ll be sleeping outside the Capitol tonight. We’ve still got work to do.

Don't get me wrong; I loved William Lacy Clay as my rep. Cori Bush seemed like she could be better than he was. So I voted for her. Then I voted for her again. I was, apparently, correct.

Pelosi told reporters Friday following the defeat that the extension of the eviction moratorium failed in part due to the last-minute notice from the White House about the need for Congress to fix the issue with legislation.

"Really, we only learned about this yesterday. Not really enough time to socialize it within our caucus to build ... the consensus necessary," Pelosi said. "We've had beautiful conversations with our members ... when it comes, though, to the technicalities of legislation, we just need more time."

I see people dwell on that one statement of Pelosi's, which is being blown way out of proportion.

It's Maxine Waters' bill. It was introduced on July 29 and had 100 Democratic co-sponsors that very day. Two more cosponsors signed on July 30.

This innate compassion is what makes Democrats, the political LEFT so special.

The "others" just don't give a shit about anyone other than themselves and their "group".

She's a Justice Democrat, therefore, everything she does must be motivated by self-interest, love of MF45, or whatever else people come up with.

Personally, I believe in these "grand-standing" events and the bills that SHOULD be debated and voted on. Keep up the fight! The only way people are going to hear you is when you make noise.
