Temps here going to 98 F here today, with a humidity of 85%

Outside will feel like you are wearing a hot, wet blanket. Yesterday was miserable but today will be worse. The air appears to be full of smog, but it is just steam. It is a premature welcome to August in the Deep South. Walking the dog will be a challenge for an old guy.

Heat Index Temperature: 155°F (69°C or 342K)

Extreme danger: at this condition, heat stroke is imminent.

We would normally have the same here in the Midwest, but it is unseasonably cool this morning with rain expected today. Looks like we have a decent week ahead here, but I am sure that we will pay for it later on.

I don’t think that Canada is a nice neighbor: Polar Vortex in winter, haze in summer

.... sunny, highs in the high 70s-low 80s, low humidity.

I was in New Orleans a week and a half ago. That humidity ought to be illegal.

Record high temps a couple weeks ago. Finally got an AC for my apartment. A lot of people in the NW don’t have AC because historically it doesn’t get that hot. But things are different now and I think the change will be permanent.

It's raining now & the temps are supposed to be "comfortable" for the next week.

by the longest, mildest Spring-like weather we had this year from Feb.- mid June. It all balances out. I am a life-long Southerner from generations of Southerners, you learn to cope. What I could not tolerate would be months Winters, I spent one Winter in Chicago and it was enough for a lifetime.

My wife and I are panning a trip to Anchorage in Jan. that should get us chilled down for a while.

If I were you, I'd skip walking in that heat. Quick run out for dog to do business.

We have an excessive heat warning today. Going up to 98. 😔

Stay safe!
