(14,060 posts)If I were on him all the time, he just would have tuned me out. The last few times I told him that Delta was more severe and people his age were getting it. I saw him today and decided to bring it up again. Have you given any more thought to getting a vaccine? Yes. Im going to schedule it. Not sure when he changed his tune or why exactly, Im just glad he did.

(11,351 posts)To go back to masking again. About every 3 days I would read the local cases and news. When it got real bad and state health guy said to wear masks again even if vaccinated he said he would.
I am not around my grandson so I don't think anyone is reminding him. He lives in an apt in my exes place. The job he has has a lot of cases right now so I am hoping that may change him.

(1,910 posts)As someone who deals with lots of college aged kids, what they say to get you to stop asking and what they do can be very different things.
Hopefully yours will actually do it.

(12,376 posts)This is a friend of a friend. I havent met him. He comments on FB anytime my friend posts about vaccinations. so i've tried reasoning with him. He's messaged me some ridiculous videos from random people, so i reposted a statement from a well known local doctor, who was also a Trump supporter, telling how this shit is no joke & get your shot. He of course mentions "not approved", so i said "so when it IS approved you'll take it?"
And this is what he sent
"The military will take over before then, i really wish you would get away From Google and Wikipedia.
Look up Fall of the Cabal.
This is not a conspiracy.
Most of our military is supporting Trump.
Look it up, he is still our Commanding Chief.
The knowledge is out there, if you don't keep listening to the propaganda."
THIS is whats out there..

Slim odds, I know, but it's all we can do. If enough do it then just maybe there is a slight chance of reform.

(12,376 posts)Since I'm the only one who could see it. I actually DID report one of his earlier public posts on my friend's OP. That one was about vaccines not being tested & containing aborted fetal cells! FB removed it.
I've seen others by other people disappear too, so others are reporting as well

(5,037 posts)He has a phobia about shots and is convinced the pain will be horrible, he had a bad reaction to a tetanus shot when he was little, but he finally decided that it would be less painful than having my foot surgically removed from his ass.

(1,304 posts)And is still unvaccinated. She was going to get it earlier, but her boyfriend got his first, and was one of those few unlucky people who had a bad negative reaction. So, that scared her into putting it off.
She still wants to get it, and is finally getting past the fear... but now she has decided to wait until there is a new vaccine that will also protect against the new variants...
Argh!
Wife and u spent last weekend practically begging her to get what's out there NOW, and worry about a booster later.
But, she is stubborn. Nothing will get her to do something once she has her mind made up.

(13,429 posts)his 1st shot puts him 5 weeks away from being fully vaccinated (assuming a 2-shot regimen), so he needs to continue exercising caution.
