Just sayin. If we get eye candy, you all should, too...

(11,158 posts)When women's boobs are hanging out of their top, I look too. Lol. And I have my own.

(31,261 posts)The fact is, our puritanical society is saturated with sex sells undertones on almost everything.
Volaris
(10,793 posts)Because they didnt have any illusions about what it was they were looking at an honoring...and not in a bad way. Top athletes are in a physical condition that other humans want to fuck, period end of sentence. Its wired Into our Primate Lizard Brains, and we would do ourselves a good service if we were willing to acknowledge such.
(Weve never needed one before, but now I think we need
a Sexy-time emoji lol).

(10,793 posts)If we were to acknowledge such, and build in acceptable outlets for that Lizard Energy.
Like they do in Amsterdam (and mostly Las Vegas).

(31,261 posts)My definition of a true friend?
If you are strapped to a table in a room and a person who you view as a friend is offered boatloads of money and lots of great sex with dream mates to plunge a knife into you and kill you. If the person instead use the knife to cut you loose and then walk out of the room with you, that would be a true friend worth holding onto through thick and thin for life.

(18,429 posts)Of course there's nothing more titillating (or equivalent) than knowing a forbidden body part might escape its clothy bonds.

(68,539 posts)Lots of people kinda joking about this kind of thing but I think it is an actual serious issue.
Now if the athletes make their own decision about uniforms then anything goes. Even nudity would not offend me.

(22,922 posts)and thinking, don't the women feel silly that they are literally running in a pair of french cut panties?
and after they ran every one of them was pulling the wedgie out of their crack. it is absurd.
This woman won not only with shorts covering her upper thighs but her midriff is covered too. I guess the extra ounce of material she was runnnig with didn't slow her down too much. Oh, and she won a gold.

I assume the athletes aren't REQUIRED to wear the panties since Hassan (the Dutch runner in the photo) wasn't wearing them, but I wonder if they feel pressured too? If they really want to dress that way that is absolutely their business and no one else's, but I find it hard to believe there aren't some runners a little more shy that might rather have more clothing on.
As for the beach volleyball... yeah, that is terrible. They ARE forced to dress like that and I think that is wrong and I won't watch it. Let people dress however they want.

(71,995 posts)Wearing actual beachwear is a silly tradition.
These people aren't beach goers messing around in their swimsuits.
They're serious, world class athletes.
Make it about the sport, not titillation.

(71,995 posts)The women's team getting fined for wearing shorts.
That's my point.
It's an athletic contest, not a beauty pageant. (And, I loathe the latter)

(7,796 posts)The ideal seems like what the women's team who broke the rules wore: tight "biker" shorts - lycra to just above the knee seems like the most protective so sand doesn't get into crevices.

(19,535 posts)Olympics used to be played in the nude, so if anything theyre overdressed.
