https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/08/03/nyregion/andrew-cuomoThe 165-page report said that Mr. Cuomo, a third-term Democrat, and his aides cultivated a toxic work environment in his office that was rife with fear and intimidation, and helped enable harassment to occur and created a hostile work environment.
The findings of the report could fuel support for impeachment proceedings against Mr. Cuomo in the State Legislature, which Democrats overwhelmingly control, lead to additional calls for his resignation and influence public opinion as he considers running for a fourth term. Outside lawyers hired by the Assemblys judiciary committee are currently looking at not only the sexual harassment claims, but a series of scandals with a common theme: whether or not Mr. Cuomo abused his power while in office.
The investigation was conducted by two outside lawyers hired by Letitia James, the state attorney general: Joon H. Kim, a former top federal prosecutor, and Anne L. Clark, a well-known employment lawyer.

(3,276 posts)That what many of them did when the investigation first started - Claimed that it was politically motivated, that the people making the claims were paid off by Trump because Cuomo was one of his more popular detractors, and that Cuomo stepping down as Governor would somehow result in a Republican taking over his office.
Wonder how long it'll take for them to claim the report is bogus, and that Letitia James and others who investigated it were all bribed by Trump?

There is always going to be a proportion of people who hang on to the most improbable beliefs.

(1,609 posts)The people pushing these Cuomo allegations were same people who pushed the Tara Reade rape allegations against Biden. Their credibility is why I defended Cuomo.

(47,940 posts)If the dictum that justice delayed is justice denied is wrong. How much abuse did his victims have to suffer while this dragged on? They sure got abuse here.
That said, I can't think of any other way the people in charge could have handled it.

Is it even sexual with these people or just a huge power trip?

(47,940 posts)We can at least pretend to believe women here now? I want an apology for all the threads conjuring up conspiracy theories about who was behind the hoax.
Its one thing to say reserve judgment. Its another to speculate who had created the hoax.
Apologies now. Oh
crickets.

(3,276 posts)Sexually harassing one of the people who are supposed to make sure that you don't, you know, get killed comes off as a really special kind of stupid.
