(8,329 posts)Three of the cops are MPD, they responded to the Capitol that was under attack. It would be as if a local cop from your department showed up and you then say He Knew and thus killed himself. Thats bullshit. They responded to save democracy and you make this bullshit claim. Shame on you. You should remove this post it is bullshit. You are blaming victims of incredible violence for their suicide. Shame on you

(4,394 posts)We know:
1. there are tapes showing cops letting people into the building and in some cases giving them words of encouragement
2. there are insurrectionists who were arrested testifying that cops let them in and encouraged them
3. there were active and retired law enforcement among the insurrectionists
4. that Trump has been actively trying to corrupt law enforcement to support him for years by sucking up to police unions and that he very likely was involved in 'fixing' the response so it was delayed
5. that the response was significantly delayed, the number of police deployed was insufficient and they were not equipped or given clear instructions on how to respond
6. the Metropolitan police chief and the two sergeants at arms resigned almost immediately after Jan 6th. One of the sergeants at arms didn't want to resign but was threatened with firing by Schumer and McConnell.
7. when the hearings discuss the victims from the Capitol and Metropolitan Police they very pointedly name Brian Sicknick and no one else. I am not aware of any public memorial services or tributes from Congress to the police officers who died by suicide. This could be unfair stigmatisation of mental health issues or there could be evidence still to come that makes honoring them as heroes problematic.
I didn't claim we know anything and I didn't accuse anyone specifically but it is a completely reasonable hypothesis that some of the people who committed suicide after January 6th did so out of a sense of guilt. There is a lot of evidence that January 6th was planned. If so, it is logical that that plan included inside help.
There is an ongoing investigation. Let's see what it turns up.
You are welcome to alert if you think that violates the terms of service. I don't think it does.

(8,329 posts)Are you trying to imply that these officers who responded to the Capitol on 1/6 to defend democracy are insurrectionists. If so, shame on you. There is no evidence that points to this. They were brutally attacked and have taken their own lives. Nothing like blaming the victim.
