They have all the healthcare they will ever want.

They keep our healthcare system a huge for profit endeavor and this ensures they have all the healthcare they will ever want. It also ensures that, because of the big price tag, only the filthy rich will have all they want. Healthcare wont be used up by the middle or the poor's. The middle will have to go into debt to get all the healthcare they want and the poor's well....they die.

This also creates a full blown distrust of the healthcare system. This keeps alot of the middle and poor from even wanting to use the healthcare system. Who trusts their life to a system designed to make a profit for someone? Wouldn't you trust a system designed to save lives and stop suffering more than a for profit system? You can only serve one master. Trying to ensure a profit while claiming you're in it to help people just is not believeable.

This is why Trump's and the GOP's lies about the dangers of vaccination whispered into the ears of stupid voters ensures the continued spread of a pandemic and anti-vaxxer nonsense.

Representative Byrd is just playing the same old game of all for the rich, and the rich all for themselves.

I hope someone from TN steps up and answers this, but it's a good question so I checked it out. TN's history with medical care and Medicaid appears to be a sordid mess of wanting a work requirement, hanging around waiting for trump to do something (!), and other bureaucratic snafus. However, it appears nothing has changed since they voted it down in 2013:

Because Tennessee has not yet expanded Medicaid under the ACA, eligibility guidelines are unchanged from 2013, and non-disabled, non-pregnant adults without dependent children are ineligible for Medicaid, regardless of their income.

Byrd didn't get voted in until after 2013 (2014, I think), so you can't blame him for the original vote but if you look at the long history at the link above, you can see he had many opportunities to vote for versions of it.
