Some folks have been attempting to link the investigation of Governor Cuomo (NY) with the recall effort of Governor Newsom. Allow me to clarify:
There IS no link.
Governor Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment and related activities, bordering on criminal conduct, by Democratic staffers; charged which have been validated by the Democratic Attorney General.
Governor Newsom faces a recall vote instigated by Republicans because they can't beat him in elections and the threshold for a recall is lowland doesn't require an actual crime or inappropriate activity to have occurred.
See the difference?

(61,033 posts)it harder to recall though. republicans can't win a gubernatorial election there so they resort to a recall dirty trick. I don't think it'll work this time though.
As for Cuomo, seems the way he treats women is straight out of "Mad Men". He should've stay married as he became a dinosaur in the relationship game. It passed him by.
I don't quite get it though. He's got three sisters and a brother. Usually you meet someone at family gatherings. He was a pretty eligible bachelor. Someone should've set him up.

(734 posts)Will less informed voters in California be swayed by a linkage that doesnt exist. We know the right wing will try to conflate the two which nationally is one of the dangers Cuomo holding on when he should step aside. I fly out to SoCal in two weeks Im curious to see myself what the political climate is firsthand unfiltered by any media. I hear from family there about a palpable anger towards all in power whether misguided or not. I remember 2006 and 2010 very well two sides of the same coin. In 2006 the anger nationally against the Bush administration led to the retaking of the House conversely 2010s smear campaign that led to losing the House. History may not repeat but it does rhyme.
