Given the volatile world we live in, that was the wise thing to do. No need to poke at a snake. I know many would feel the need to put that old hag in her place but having two people screaming or arguing with each other won’t help resolve it. She is just an old busybody. Since she expressed her opinion, maybe she’ll cool her jets. But at least the homeowner took the high ground.

Reminds me of friends from Turkey and their saying that homes should be chosen for the neighbors.

This young woman handled it well and like a civilized grownup. It could have been a handy opportunity to start building a hopefully friendly relationship by inviting her to get better acquainted over coffee or some such on the porch.

Btw, if that woman was my new neighbor and objected to a flag that was nothing to me, I'd probably have my kids choose a place for it in the back yard. Little enough to do, while I waited to see what we had to deal with.
