Democrats holding the bag.
What isn't being reported is that the Democrats don't need to republicans to raise the debt ceiling. They can use reconciliation to raise the debt ceiling, and in addition can effectively raise the debt ceiling by an amount so high that a breach won't happen into the future, and for all practical purposes, abolishing the debt ceiling.

(90,790 posts)Especially in the so-called right-wing media. Of which there frankly shouldnt be any.
You shouldnt be allowed to have your own facts. Especially when those facts are anything but.
And now we have entire networks and other media devoted to pushing and reinforcing fantasy over facts. And as long as we have that misinformation feed that serves, reinforces, reaffirms, and reassures the so-called great unwashed, seems to me were pretty well fucked.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
