You might want to check out post # 20 from Joe Otterbein. That should give you a clue.

(38,012 posts)Making allowances for the fact that there may be dialectical nuances of which I'm not fully aware, I believe it translates into:
"Thank you for shopping here. Please be aware that Covid is a serious matter. Please respect the rules that keep our employees and customers well. Money stored in a wallet or purse is a preferred medium of exchange at this establishment. Have a nice day. Be safe."
I'm amused, but I would be: I was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island.

Now, just think about how disgusted we get here at this forum over these morons who don't want to wear a mask or get a free shot. And we don't even have to see them, talk to them, or risk touching them when giving them change.
I am thinking this person is just as fed up with them as we are.

(1,033 posts)But I feel that their use of profanities may just work if it's a local corner store or bodega in which this sign was spotted. Of course, we'd never see something like this in, say, a Von's, Roundy's, or Publix store.
Honestly, I find it hilarious and relatable, as it's obvious that the shop owners are as fed up with the selfish behavior or so many of our compatriots as we are.
I honestly don't know why so many people perfectly comfortable with "FUCK TRUMP" signs felt they had to try and start fights over this.

I'd probably be put-off if I saw this at my local grocery store. I expect better from larger establishments. Obviously, this isn't an upscale grocery store... it's a M&P neighborhood convenience store or bodega.
Something like this tells me that the owner is frightened and that her customers are younger, and rude, and arrogant... or that they are "entitled" or that they do not feel any obligation to comport with CDC guidance and Covid-norms.
I don't blame her at all and I APPLAUD her efforts to protect herself, her other customers... and to DRIVE THE POINT HOME to the covid-idiots.
Texin
(2,851 posts)I have no problem with it. Anyone who enters with an *attitude* needs their ass handed to them. The owner's terms indicate the right to self-protect, protect the employees and the need to protect shoppers on premises from idiots that are mere provocateurs. This needs to be on signage in every market and retail establishment in the country in my opinion. People should feel safe venturing out to shop for whatever, wherever and not feel as if their lives are on the line (which they are frequently). I cringe every time I have to walk myself into a supermarket. I don't know what I'll encounter most of the time.

The L & L Market on Clancy Street is in one of the zip codes with a large number of CoVid-19 cases, so they have to be very straight forward with the facts. WARNING: The language is NFSW, but perhaps needed.
A contributor to the Grand Rapids subreddit posted a photo of the sign.
The Market, a convenience store in the Belknap Lookout neighborhood, has a list of rules, and they are very easy to follow. Many feel the 'no titty or shoe money' rule should carry over into the post-corona world.
Click the link below to see the sign.
