The choir I sing in did a jazzed up arrangement of it several years ago, and it was one of my favorite songs. I always thought of Garth as “The Anti-Hank”. Think I might need to give him another listen. Thanks for this.

I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert at our state fair many years ago. He was just becoming famous, so it was pretty cool that he was on one of the free stages. He put on a fantastic show.

One of the guys from my late husband's band played and sang "The Dance" at his memorial service. That was a lifetime ago, but I still always choke back tears when I hear that song.

And I love the “We shall be free “ video.

Big question is who helped putting it together? Because on two occasions where they showed a unit patch. The dudes were fronting their 82nd Airborne patch.

Hopefully TEB/Duncanpup won’t see it. Or we never hear the end of it.

I guess nobody told the idiots how to feel about Garth Brooks back then. They sure can't think on their own.

Dixie chicks came in straight on, no sugar coat. It got twisted to unpatriotic and in country music, you cannot even consider publically badmouthing the US of A on anything.

In a different way at the time. I grew up in a place that had a status quo that was wrong on so many levels. My Activism started at an young age with my father mad at me all the time about it. He was happy with the status quo and thought I was crazy for pointing out what was wrong with it.

Now I'm like the character in this video. I push though what others tell me I can't. The final whistle dosen't blow about me doing something till my body blows it.

Yes it has told me no about a lot of things but anyone who thinks I need everything done for me is dead wrong.
