Brown later followed up with an update video, telling her viewers that the woman had been charged a misdemeanor with assault on a child under 12.
She also recalled how the woman reportedly attempted to tell police that she was attacked by Brown and that the officer believed her 'based on just the way we look.'
Brown said the woman had let in two white children before telling hers to wait outside.
They went to court on July 30, where the woman had asked for a public defender, which continued court to August 20.
The woman Brown said was charged has not been named. It is unclear where the video was shot, and what happened after the altercation at the gate to the pool.

(10,943 posts)... if the boy was with his mother, how can he be stopped from entering to use a public pool? Also, it looked like the boy knew where he was going - he went ahead of his mother and seemed to calmly go to the right area. I'm guessing he'd been there before...
... I went to a community pool at a friend's home recently... it is closed again, but the pool was open when COVID eased. I did not swim, but I know someone who wanted to, but didn't when a couple of women went in completely dressed. Even their heads were covered. The non-swimmer said it just seemed weird and made him uncomfortable. In small swimsuits, maybe we made them feel uncomfortable, too!
... but that's completely different than someone's skin tone... thankfully, I've never seen anyone denying someone access to a pool due to their skin color. Very strange... and unacceptable.

(7,215 posts)My daughter 22 was out on the boat with us a couple weeks ago, and a woman on a boat in front of us was in a tiny thong string bikini dancing suggestively...my daughter said she was uncomfortable and it was awckward, I said just look the other way and enjoy the day, she's living her best life.
Lol, whether you swim fully dressed or in different colored skin these are our strengths and we should rally around eachother as an undivided people for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
We need to stop the division, and work toward the common goals we all agree upon, there is a lot of money to be made when there is chaos, and the inequality between 1% rich and poor continues to grow.
As Aretha Franklin sings, " Think, think... think about what your trying to do to me".

(10,943 posts)... there is a thong bikini at the building, too... She just suns herself; doesn't swim. When she lays on her stomach, it looks like she's naked. We have women covered head-to-toe and thong bikinis in the same pool area... that's SoCal! We're a diverse bunch!

(7,215 posts)It wouldn't bother me, but if I was asked to rub some sunscreen on the backend...I'd respectfully decline. Lol.

(18,714 posts)Watch how aggressive she is at first with the boy. I don't think she saw the boys mother initially, because she goes from being abusive to backing up and practically cowering when she sees the boys mom.

(7,215 posts)These racist people have ruined life for everyone, including their ugly self.
When this kind of stuff happens, report and file charges.
A note that the police officer initially believed the white woman was attacked by the black family because of the way they looked, VIDEO EVERYTHING ALWAYS.
He should be reprimanded and have to take critical race theory class.

That mother was very assertive and it tells us all how we have to be to defend our children and grandchildren.

(169,759 posts)Since it involved Philly and its burbs and a cross-border swim club that threw a daycare's daycamp of children out because "they changed the complexion" of the facility, I had closely followed and participated in/posted OPs about it.
I had an OP with some DU2 threads compiled here - https://www.democraticunderground.com/1014875014 and one of the earliest was this OP (where some of the replies illustrate problems that DU has when it comes to race and fortunately several of the abject racists from back then have been PPR'd) - https://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x3958978
Suffice it to say, entertainer Tyler Perry stepped up to the plate to pay for a trip to Disney World for all of the affected children - https://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/07/20/tyler.perry.pool.children/index.html
the place filed for Chapter 7 and paid $1.1 million through a settlement with DOJ - https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/national-international/settlement-in-swim-club-discrimination-case/1938088/
These children are now older teens (some of the youngest) and young adults.
And as we see with this latest OP- The beat goes on.
