(11,869 posts)There are plenty of Cali fish in a barrel the R's want to shoot. One is replacing the waning career of Dianne Feinstein with a nice Wacko, anti-vaxxer, pro-Trump, repuke dickhead.

(12,515 posts)Newsom said we don't have to and shouldn't.
I got my sample ballot today and want my actual ballot asap. grrrrr
On edit; I'm reading more about this and I get why Newsom wants us to do this but we do need to make sure someone like Elder doesn't get in.
I'm torn:

(12,515 posts)Newsom talks about it splitting the vote. I'm not sure enough people would vote for the same democrat anyway.
There is thinking that if the recall passes and Elder takes over it will be for the remainder of Newsom's term and then Elder has to run again and he would be the choice most democrats would want to run against.
A write-in candidate would be a good option but they have to file and time is running out.
It's confusing to a degree.

(15,599 posts)The most "well-known Democrat" on the ballot is a "landlord/property management influencer" who's entire viewpoint on economics is based on the money he made before 2009 in real estate.
No on the first question, no names on the second section, and mail it in ASAP.

(77,795 posts)Recall ought to be for criminality or unfitness in office, not for partisan or replacement ambitions. The abuse of it is compounded with that open primary set-up.
CA recall process is as bad as the caucus system elsewhere.
