She's whining again how hard it is.

(22,920 posts)She avoided Joy's question about her opinion as to whether or not reproductive rights are indeed an economic issue. She said Joy needs to sit on the couch with her husband and ask him, because she isn't addressing such things. Of course they invited him and he hasn't come on there yet.
Whoopi just asked about the men in her family not having served in the military.

If this comes out in a mega-landslide for Obama, even despite the vote stealing and the voter suppression, they are going to look really, really bad. And so are the other Republicans in Congress. They do NOT want that.

OneGrassRoot
(22,920 posts)Yeah, I assumed that would be the case. They don't really get into good debates as they used to in years past. Pretty lame now, imho.
I watched because I was curious how Ann and her son came off as far as likeability and just to see if they interacted normally, even with softball questions.
I was surprised with Joy's question about reproductive rights = economic issues, and Whoopi's question which involved the men in her family having never served in the military.
I doubt Ann felt it was a softball interview.

Or is she so equally thin-skinned and contemptuous of him that any complaint he may be making or frustration in his voice is viewed as an inconvenience or attack on her?
There's a wide range of interpretation on "dumps on her".
Or is this all a ploy that she feels will get women to feel he's got a human side? If she's so brainwashed into believing that a "woman's job is as a helpmete to sooth the hardworking man's brow" and that real women think the same way she does, she may actually think she's helping her husband by showing that unlike the President, who's wife is an independent woman that has not dedicated her life to ensuring his life is stable, her husband can depend on her to keep him sane.
Or, perhaps she's pretty sure he's not going to win and just wants him to quit, and is sabotaging his campaign to get it all over with quicker.

No one has touched on this "dumping" thing at all yet. Maybe on replay it won't seem so bad, but watching it live -- in conjunction with the interview as a whole -- it was pretty devastating for their campaign, imho.
Edit to add that men may not zero in on such things as much as women, but this is a show that primarily has a female audience. I'd think we're being biased for obvious reasons, but the studio audience seemed to be just as uncomfortable as I was watching it all. I would have thought the producers would have filled the audience with Hasselbeck clones, precisely to prevent what happened from happening.
