Our new townhome is adjacent to a busy main North/South arterial street in the Twin Cities West Metro. The traffic noise doesn't bother me, and you can't really hear it inside the house. However, you can hear ambulance sirens going by. There's a sizable hospital with a busy ER just up the road. Since we moved in just over a month ago, ambulance traffic has increased dramatically. I wonder if that increase has to do with the increase in COVID-19 cases.
I'm guessing it does. I don't know for sure, but the number of ambulances going by our house has tripled in just a month. I hear every one of them.

(151,281 posts)The 4-lane divided road connects several suburbs in the area, and the hospital is on that road. There are freeways, too, but that route is often the fastest way to go North and South.
I can't think of any other reason for the increase in ambulance traffic in just a month.

(25,050 posts)What was the ambulance traffic like in the months before you move in?
That might be a larger sample to draw conclusions from.
Still, I get your point

(151,281 posts)June 29 of 2021 until now. At that time, when we first moved in, I heard about three ambulances a day. Now it is up to 10 or more passing by heading North to the hospital with sirens on each day.
You're right, of course, my sample is limited, but the increase has been very noticeable. I hear every ambulance siren that passes.

(25,050 posts)Our apartment is near 3 hospitals and we're used to hearing sirens.
Lately, it seems like a parade of them at all hours.
