Field of Dreams game was more than unbelievable. It was perfect.
It was a great night for baseball.

1. It was really good
and I guess it was one more birthday present for Obama.
The only live game I ever watched was at Yankee stadium. |

2. I sobbed.
The intro, the players coming out of the cornfield. All of it. I wasn’t even a baseball fan yet when that movie came out, and it was and still is pure magic.
If only Burt Lancaster were still around to see it.. |

20. It was Burt for me.
But James Earl Jones was a very close second. I think the magic of that movie was in the casting. Each actor was perfect and believable. If even one had been different, it would not have been as good.

5. Field of Dreams is a movie that can make a grown man sob until
his Corn Flakes are mush.
Superb opening with the players coming out of the cornfield. The game was incredible, ending with a walk-off HR. |

I spent many evenings playing catch with my dad, sometimes with a baseball, sometimes with a football. Not having brothers has precious perks.

"Field of Dreams" or not, it was on Fox. For some reason Fox isn't available on my Cable TV programming list.

Rupert Murdoch's wallet. He uses profits from sports and entertainment to pay Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham etc.

15. I Like The Movie Line Reference
Terry Mann says "Unbelievable" when he sees Jackson talk with Archie.
Ray replies "It's more than that. It's perfect!" That is a huge scene in the movie for me. |

19. My Dad was my Little League coach and I was my son's Little League coach. So yeah, it was a
poignant but fun game to watch. With all of the statistics, analytics and hype of modern major league baseball, it was so refreshing to experience the simple purity of the game in that environment. Loved that scoreboard too.

21. Any game where the Yankees lose has a lot going for it
Did you know that many Major League mascot names are actually shortened versions of longer names? It's true! "Mets" is short for "Metropolitans." The Cincinnati Reds were originally the "Redlegs." And Yankees is short for Yankeessuck.

Beautifully done. I don’t watch baseball that much, but this was so well done. Hated not a mask in the stands, but I was safe in my house. That’s on them. But the game, the imagery, guests broadcasters were all perfect. Great Job MLB. Most definitely gonna go watch the movie again.

28. Except for we Yankees fans.
Unbelievable comeback in the top of the 9th, but a huge uh-oh went up for me when we did not get that second out on the ground ball to third that was clearly foul. That led to the walk, which led to the winning run coming to the plate which led to…shit. I’m convinced that had the Yankees got that second out that they would have won.
Still, a great game. We did pretty well for a team missing half its top players. |

Rock music on the sound system, annoying trivia games between innings, $20 hotdogs….the way Abner Doubleday meant it to be.
