Schools, USPS, no more Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, no government services—everything run by private businesses with no limits one what they can charge (big Pharma is already there). But they’ll still demand our taxes so they can pay for-profit companies to (not)educate children and keep taxes low for billionaires and corporations.

They've been promised power over others and even society itself.
Anyone from POC to disabled people to LGBT or non-Christian...just so long as they can ignore social restrictions, rules and laws the way trump did.
That was the deal.

... and yes, you'd be correct. Libertarians are basically horrible, selfish people who are willing to burn our country down (figuratively speaking) because they believe in taking as much as they can for themselves and destroying the rest so that nobody else gets anything. Ron Paul and Rand Paul are perfect examples, but there are so many others.

Not all Republicans are Libertarians though. Some actually do have some sense but they're few and far between. Chump's gift (if you can call it that) was in finding very stupid people who understand nothing about our government, and feeding them so many lies that they no longer know what they believe. They just believe what he tells them.

often if its required by the health department it applies to private and public schools. Bans adopted by school boards just apply to the schools they oversee. It can vary though.

So are they trying to kill off public and charter school kids?

"Another issue: The mask mandates in question apply to public district and charter schools but not private schools, violating equal-protection rights for students, the lawsuit said.

"HB 2898 takes this right away from children in public and charter schools – but not private schools – in violation of the Equal Protection clause of the Arizona Constitution."," the suit states."

North Texas runs out of pediatric ICU beds amid Covid surge
"If you’re not vaccinated, you’re playing Russian roulette," Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council's CEO said. "Please get vaccinated. Just about all of the patients in our hospitals are unvaccinated."

No pediatric intensive care unit beds are available amid another Covid surge in North Texas, officials said Thursday.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council announced there are no more pediatric ICU beds in trauma service area E, which includes hospitals in 19 counties in North Texas, NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reported. As of Thursday, there were 73 confirmed pediatric Covid-19 patients hospitalized in the zone, the highest it's ever seen treated at once.

The council said hospitals were also receiving an unusual amount of pediatric respiratory syncytial virus patients this summer.

Stephen Love, the president and CEO of the council, said hospitals will use makeshift areas and reallocate staff to treat children.

"Otherwise, they have to transfer the patient to other facilities. But the problem is in the state of Texas, the Houston area, the El Paso area, we’re all in the same situation. This fourth surge is extremely serious," Love said.

Just came from cemetery for my Father.

Saw some children's graves.

It is a old cemetery going back to the 1930's.

I was named after an Aunt that died in 1920 at 6 months old from the Spanish Flu.

Saw her grave when I was little.

or even last Winter. Maybe I missed it, but I don't think PICUs (pediatric intensive care units) were filling up. Only adult ICUs. While dangerous, certainly, we were kind of lucky the initial Covid variants weren't more deadly or caused significant morbidity in a broader spectrum of age groups. That left a whole lot of space for Covid to evolve without hitting the mortality wall, significantly affecting its ability to spread. And it might get even more deadly through chance mutations. Seems Delta is hitting children hard. Well, we were warned about the danger of mutations, but did idiot Amurka listen? Of course not. They're still not listening.
