1. Kind of takes on a whole new meaning when you see it.
But of course , its none of our business.
The girl is now a sex slave. As i've been saying..If the US stands for something, now is the moment. Flame away...I'm almost getting used to it. |

2. This happens in Pakistan also. Girls brought up in UK
are sometimes tricked into going to Pakistan for a regular visit but ended up being forced to marry someone.
Hindu girls are kidnapped and forced to convert and marry Muslim men. Christian girls are sold to Chinese men looking for brides. The problem is the culture. How do you change that ? |

4. We cant change the world.
But we can stop this atrocity and yes,war crime, in Afghanistan.

10. How?
How many troops do you want to return to Afghanistan?
How much longer should the stay? Don't you think this will happen whenever we leave? |

17. I dont have all the answers for you.
The taliban are monsters.
I hope we are better than leaving these women to become sex slaves. What the hell do we stand for if not against this atrocity. |

27. I understand how upset you are
It's not that you are wrong to be. But outside of hundreds of thousands of troops, and permanent occupation, I don't think we can fix this.
And unfortunately, they will now breed terrorists who will probably attack us. This was screwed up from the beginning under Bush. |

33. So do we invade Bangladesh? Do we invade India? Do we invade Iran?
It is the culture and the people there.
We are talking over a billion people. What exactly should we do? Kill them all? Arrest them? |

but we need to know what is their solution if we did stay???

but we don't hear about it much.
But women who escaped have told their stories. |

11. The difference is the scale.
What you describe is not government sanctioned although they do turn a blind eye to it. It is terrible but it happens in relatively isolated areas and in relatively small numbers.
The Taliban is terrorizing the ENTIRE FEMALE POPULATION of Afghanistan. And their goal is for their beliefs to spread throughout the region ... and well beyond. This is not cultural, this is state sanctioned terrorism. |

5. We should have just armed the women beginning in 2010.
Trained and armed women would have been a better choice than training and arming the men. I believe they would have fought the Taliban harder, not sold out so quickly. They would have been fighting for their children and their own lives. The Afghan men , not so much.

16. If it's not cultural, why isn't the Muslim world protesting ?
remember the protests over cartoons and against Israel recently ?
Why isn't there that same outrage. I have seen more anger and hatred at France over a hijab ban . |
